Club De Emperor is the KTV located on the 9th floor of Orchard Plaza, which can only be accessed through the elevators. As for KTVs in Singapore, my Singaporean friend told me that this would be considered on the mid-high range quality in Singapore. A room with a single bottle (we chose Macallan) would set you back approx. $450 and a medium sized room with two bottles would set you back approx. $950. Best to bring plenty of friends to make it more economical!
Of course, you can’t come to a KTV and not talk about the women, for which there were a lot, a 50 or so from my estimate. The lady of the hour is, of course, the mama-san who goes through the “menu” and requisite “pricing” once we’ve all settled down in the room. The pricing is as follows: $200 to reserve a girl for the whole night (i.e. sit, talk with you, etc), and $50, if you choose, a “butterfly”, a girl that darts in and out of rooms to hangout with different patrons. The latter option is the most economical, but you risk the girl not coming back if she doesn’t like you. haha! The women themselves, are aged between 20-25, and are either from mainland China or Vietnam. The Chinese speakers and/or those who attracted to Chinese ladies typically opt for the Mainland Chinese while the English speakers tend to settle for the Vietnamese ladies. The bar fine, as I understand, is $300.
